Pastoral Firings at Mars Hill Church

On September 30, 2007 Pastors’ Bent Meyer and Paul Petry were fired from their positions at Mars Hill Church.  This would not be all that noteworthy but for the many unusual events that led up to and that have followed the firings.  Unfortunately, the Elders at Mars Hill Church have insisted that for Mars Hill Members not speak of, write of, or discuss these matters with each other, and that to do so is “divisive” and “gossip.”  Additionally, the Elders have been evasive and incomplete when individual members have posed questions about these matters to them.  

Obviously, such events and behavior has left many members at a loss as to how to get a complete story, let alone how to respond.  Prayingheart has researched these matters with many sources, and will attempt to present the facts that have come from reliable sources and have been verified by multiple sources.
